ROLLING DIRECTION:
1. 1. General explanation for directional mounting:
The majority of Michelin mountain bike tires have a directional sculpture. This means that the sculpture has a direction of rolling to provide traction for braking or forward power transmission.

The sculpture to the right is directional and the illustration below shows the tire ’s application for a cross country or trail riding MTB

Never be mistaken: compared to the direction of rolling, the user sees ahead “Pointing front, front wheel” and   “Pointing rear, rear wheel."

Note: Downhill riders generally prefer to set up their tires for the most powerful braking and run their rear tire the same direction as the front.
