butyl:
It is the traditional Michelin tube.
Black in color, it is manufactured starting with synthetic rubber (butyl).
Its principal quality is its air retention.
It exists in lighter versions A1, B1 and C4 under the name of “Comp”. These tubes are .7mm wall thickness versus the standard RStop .9mm wall
thickness.
Aircomp latex:
It is the high performance, lightweight tube.
Green in color, it is manufactured from natural latex rubber.
Its principal quality is its modulus of elasticity, which makes the tube more
pliable and less sensitive to punctures.
It requires more frequent monitoring of the pressure than Michelin butyl tubes.
